Atelier · Rome

Hands before machines.

Every shirt begins with a fabric that is observed, touched and understood. Technique comes next; first come experience, proportion and listening.

The craft lives in its gestures

Cutting is never an anonymous step. It is where the material meets the person, the way they move and the occasion for which the shirt will be worn. The exceptional fabrics available in our atelier include Egyptian Giza 45 cottons, up to David & John Anderson’s Golden Jubilee 330/4 from the Albini Group. For women we also select CARNET Demi Couture and CARNET Ungaro Première: jacquards, pleats, fil coupé, ethereal transparencies and signature prints. We also work with Canclini 1925, TESEO and Liberty; Tessitura Monti produces exclusive designs for DAN Roma.

Listening to the material

Listening to the material

Weight, handle, pattern and drape suggest how the garment should be built. Choosing the fabric is already a choice of character.

Cutting is a promise

Cutting is a promise

Shears, patterns and personal references turn cloth into precise proportions without erasing its identity.

Precision, not uniformity

Precision, not uniformity

Machines and tools support the work, but experienced hands control alignments, details and finish.
